For my Web Technologies class in fall 2024 I completed the following projects:
Branding and Social Media Accounts
I created an imaginary brand, Byte Tech, which is a tech store selling electronics and gaming supplies, such as computers, tablets, video equipment, and gaming chairs. The store has physical locations as well as an app and website where customers can purchase their products. The target audience for this store is Gen Z. In addition, Byte Tech wants to help the young generation become successful in the future and be able to advance the world.
I made social media accounts on several different platforms to promote Byte Tech and allow the brand to interact with the customers. This assignment helped me learn a lot about social media management since I didn’t have much previous social media experience. I made profiles on Facebook, TikTok, X, and Instagram. Figma
I developed a mobile app for my brand Byte Tech using Figma, a web-based design and prototyping tool. The Byte Tech App allows users to shop for Byte Tech products on their phones. They can read user reviews and compare products with similar items to help them make their buying decisions. The app offers multiple payment options, credit card, Paypal, and G pay. I included a hamburger menu to help users navigate through the app. This project gave me practical experience designing and prototyping an app.
Webflow
With Webflow, I designed my first portfolio website. In this project I included a home page, which has a header, hero section, list of projects I completed at Atlantic Cape Community College, contact form, and a footer. I also created a page for each project that had my project details, images, and challenges faced. In addition, I constructed an about page that described my background, featured a photo, and outlined my educational journey. Finally, I created a 404 page and password page.
Webflow offers a 21-day design portfolio course that teaches students how to create websites and make them responsive. This course helped me learn the basics of no-code web design and content management.
